The Power of Gratitude

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

When you feel gratitude, you attract wealth. But how can you feel gratitude for something you don’t have? If you are struggling to launch your business, the bills are piling up, and you haven’t had a new client in weeks, how do you feel grateful for anything? Let me teach you how to feel grateful and draw wealth and abundance to you like a magnet.

But first, did you know gratitude comes in two levels? The first level is the very superficial level. This is feeling gratitude for things and circumstances that are in your life at the moment. Your Mom drilled it into you to say “thank you” when you received things, so this is the type of gratitude we experience most easily. You are grateful for your house, your stuff, your health, the people in your life, your job, your skills, the fact that you have a long weekend approaching.

This is all fine and good, but it’s pretty ineffective when it comes to drawing more abundance into your life. When you try to come up with a list of things to be thankful for, you might say, “Well, with this economy, at least I still have a job.” This isn’t real gratitude. It doesn’t make you feel joyful or happy; it just makes you feel temporarily safe. If you’re having a pity party and are full of negative thoughts, starting with this level of gratitude is an easy way to start turning your thoughts around.

The type of gratitude that is going to rock your life is a much deeper gratitude. It involves being thankful for the big picture things like your life, the perfection of the universe, and everything in your life (good and bad!). Yes, it’s being grateful for your very existence – every moment of it and everything in it. It’s being overjoyed at the chance to exist and shape the universe.

This gratitude isn’t something that is easy to experience. It’s akin to unconditional love, another difficult concept to achieve. You have to let go of fear, let go of judgment, let go of negativity, and be thrilled that you are here living the human experience in the universe. It needs to be fully ingrained in your personality – those who experience this kind of gratitude almost have a glow about them. Everything in their life is a “wow” moment and they are overwhelmed with gratitude in all things.

Have you ever stood at the top of a mountain, or on the shores of a beach at sunset and felt simply overwhelmed with the beauty of it? That is the feeling that you want to cultivate in your soul – but about all things in your life!

When you are in this state of mind, you no longer have to remind yourself to think grateful thoughts. You ARE grateful. It is a part of your being. When you vibrate at this level, you’re activating the Law of Attraction and attracting the good experiences that share that vibration. The people, places, and events that you need will appear in your life as if by magic.

Great Success: One Idea, One Person

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Many people succumb to someday syndrome – thinking that someday their ship will come in, someday they’ll be successful, someday they’ll be rich, someday they’ll be happy. They feel like they don’t have enough good ideas to make themselves successful. Well, here’s the good news – ONE great idea is enough to change your life. Just one.

That one brilliant spark of an idea is enough to set you on a path to change your life. It may give you the vision of a new product to develop. It may be the title of a book you want to write. It might be a marketing idea that you’d never considered before as a way to reach your target audience. Whatever you have, that one idea may be the idea that brings you success. All you need to do is grab hold of that idea and develop it.

Think about oak trees. Anyone who has lived near an oak tree knows that they produce tons of acorns. Acorns are the seeds that grow oak trees, so why don’t we have thousands of oak trees growing all over the place? Because not all acorns get the ideal conditions needed to grow into trees. Some are eaten by squirrels, some fall right next to the tree and rot on the ground, others just never sprout.

Your idea is like an acorn. You need to plant it in fertile ground and take care of it so it grows into a big tree of success. Without care, your idea might rot (or someone else might steal it from you and grow their own tree using your seed!). Your idea will be under attack by ravenous predators who want to destroy your idea with their negative opinions. Avoid these people at all costs while you’re developing your idea. Surround yourself with people who will fertilize your idea with positive thoughts and words.

So wondering where you’re going to come up with this one great idea? It could come from anywhere! Carry around a small notebook and jot down your ideas as they come to you. Don’t let them slip away by thinking “I’ll remember it later!” That idea might just slip right by you and into the mind of someone else. Ideas belong to the universe, so be sure to capture yours as it flies by!

Ideas also arise when you surround yourself with interesting and different people. If you spend your life in the same social and business circle, you’ll keep finding the same used ideas. Make it a point to meet people who are not in your industry, people who are not in your normal social circle. Hang out with people who make you feel a little bit uncomfortable! You’ll find that the experience will open your mind to new ideas – maybe even that ONE idea that will revolutionize your life.

Are You Thinking Like a Wealthy Person?

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Wealth is easy to achieve if you have the right attitude and mindset.  You can go from being homeless on the streets to being a multi-millionaire with the right thoughts and mindset (think Joe Vitale).  On the flip side, you can do exactly the opposite if you have the wrong mental attitude.

So what exactly do wealthy people do that makes them so successful while the rest of us are sitting around the house, too broke to buy a pizza?   Let’s do a quick test to see how you think.  You open your mail one day to find a money order for $1000.  There’s no return address, no way of figuring out who has sent it to you.  What are you going to do with the money?

Go on… think of your answer.  $1000 that you didn’t expect to receive is in your hands.  What’s the first thing you want to do with it?

A)        You thought about buying something you’ve wanted for a long time.

B)        You thought about going out for a really nice dinner!

C)        You thought about using it to pay down a debt.

D)        You thought about saving it.

E)         You thought about investing it.

If you thought A or B, you’re thinking like a poor person.  If you chose C, D, or E, you are thinking like a wealthy person.  Of course, this doesn’t mean that wealthy people don’t spend money!   It just means that they tend to think of what money can do for them in the long term, while people who are broke mostly think of the short-term benefits of money.

Broke people think in terms of short-term benefits.  They want immediate gratification.  If your thought about that $1000 was taking it to the electronics store and exchanging it for a plasma television, then you’re thinking in short-term benefits.  Now think about this.  If you put that $1000 toward your credit card debt, you will be debt free sooner.  Debt free means more of your monthly income freed up to save, invest, and yes, even make purchases.   Paying off that credit card with the $1000 will give you the opportunity to save nearly six times that amount in a decade, and all you have to do is put the $50 you would have spent on your credit card payment in the bank!  So, do you want a new TV now or $6000 in a decade?

Wealthy people think in the long-term.  If they spent all their money on short-term benefits, they wouldn’t have any to save and invest and build their wealth!  Thinking thoughts of wealth and abundance are one step toward building your personal fortune, but it goes hand in hand with thinking in the long-term.   Imagine every dollar you earn growing into ten dollars.  Imagine every ten dollars growing into one hundred.  Your income will consistently grow if you maintain an attitude of gratitude for the wealth that is coming into your life and a focus on your long-term goals.

Get Paid Today–The Way I See It

Monday, June 15th, 2009

I don’t know about you but I’m absolutely tired of trying to build downlines for the various MLMs I’ve tried over the past several years.  It sounds so easy, doesn’t it?  It’s just like the old AT&T commercial (I think it was AT&T), you tell two friends and they tell two friends and they tell two friends… Who doesn’t have two friends?  Apparently I didn’t.

At first I thought there must be something wrong with me.  Couldn’t  my family and friends see what a great opportunity my business is?  Couldn’t they see that they cold be filthy rich in a short amount of time if they would just tell a few other people about this great opportunity?

What was even more frustrating was when I would get ONE person to sign up only to realize that they had absolutely no intention of pursuing the business as a business.  They were just trying to get me off their back so I would stop bugging them about the business.

There had to be a better way!

As time passed (really it’s been several years) and dollars flew out of my bank account and my credit cards were maxed out, I found that better way.  I found that I didn’t have to build a huge downline and wait months to get a measly check once in a while–if at all.  I found a way to have people chase me for my opportunity, monetize those that say no and GET PAID TODAY for those who say yes.

What a concept!

There are millions of people looking for a home-based business every single year.  Most will fail because they have not plugged into a system and a business that honors them and their time and efforts.  They fail because they don’t know know any better.

Do you want to learn a better way?  Do you want to learn from those who get results and want to show you how to get results?

Let me hear from you.

Hello everyone.  As you can see, my new blog site is now up and running and I couldn’t be any happier with it.  I love the graphics, don’t you?

I want to make my site as warm and welcoming as I can.  I want this to be a place where you can come and hang out, have fun and hopefully learn something along the way.  I would love to have you leave comments, questions and/or suggestions.  If it weren’t for you, this site wouldn’t exist so let’s make this an interaction, a dialog if you will, so we can learn from each other.

Thank you again for stopping by.  Hopefully it will be a regular thing. :-)
